Tom Negovan is a news anchor and reporter at Chicago's WGN-TV.[1] During his time as anchor of the WGN-TV News at Noon, the program solidified its position as the top-rated midday newscast in Chicago and was honored with a Silver Dome Award by the Illinois Broadcasters Association. In the summer of 2008, Negovan agreed to move off the broadcast to make way for veteran anchor Steve Sanders. The WGN-TV Midday News was then expanded to 90 minutes. Negovan is currently the principal backup anchor for all WGN-TV newscasts.
Prior to WGN-TV, Negovan was weekend anchor at CBS-owned KYW-TV in Philadelphia, where he helped launch the award-winning CBS3 I-Team. His work is remembered for its focus on consumer advocacy and exposing municipal corruption. Negovan also regularly covered national politics, often live from Washington, D.C., and the war in Iraq, live from Baghdad. He won two Emmy awards for his work at KYW-TV in 2005.
